What this covers
This policy explains what CueState collects when you use cuestate.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed, and it describes what the site actually does today.
What we collect
The waitlist
If you join the founding list, the app list, a tool notification list or send a studio enquiry, we store the details you give us: your email address, your name if you add it, what you teach, how long you have taught, and anything you write in the message box. We also record when you signed up and the page you signed up from. The same details go to our email provider, Resend, as a contact, so we can send you what you asked for and you can unsubscribe with one click.
Accounts
If you create an account, we store your name, email address and a hashed password, along with session records so you stay signed in. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Purchases
A purchase can be made only from a signed-in account. Your payment is handled by one of two companies, depending on your country. Where Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates) sells it as our Merchant of Record, Paddle collects your payment and billing details in its own checkout as an independent controller, under its privacy notice at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy. Where CueState (the operator of cuestate.com) sells it directly, Braintree, a PayPal service, collects your card details in its own payment form and handles them under the PayPal Privacy Statement at https://www.paypal.com/us/legalhub/paypal/privacy-full. We give whichever of them takes the payment your account email address so its checkout can confirm the payment with you. Either way, we never receive or store your card number. We keep a record of the purchase itself: which product, the amount and currency, when it was paid, whether it was refunded, and the payment company's reference for it.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without identifying you. We do not run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To tell you when the founding cohort, a tool or the app opens, if you asked us to.
- To send the occasional note about a CueState principle, which you can stop at any time from the link in the email.
- To run your account and give you access to what you have bought.
- To answer a message you sent us.
- To keep the site working and secure.
We do not sell your details and we do not share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics.
- Neon hosts the database.
- Resend delivers our email and holds the waitlist as a contact list.
- Paddle and Braintree take payment, as described under Purchases.
- Cloudflare stores the files you buy and serves them to your account.
Each of these processes data on our instructions and under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Waitlist details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Account details are kept while the account exists. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you by writing to privacy@cuestate.com. Every marketing email includes a link to stop receiving them. If you have an account, write to the same address to delete it, and we will remove everything that is not a purchase record we are required to keep.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, where we have your email, tell you directly.
CueState is operated by CueState (the operator of cuestate.com). Questions: support@cuestate.com. Privacy requests: privacy@cuestate.com.
